Android Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Android Developer proficient in Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain a high-performance native Android application. The candidate will work closely with the backend and design teams to deliver a seamless mobile experience.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin
2. Implement UI designs using Jetpack Compose and Material 3
3. Integrate REST APIs and WebSocket connections for real-time data
4. Implement audio playback and background media services
5. Handle push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
6. Work with local storage (Room DB) and caching strategies
7. Ensure app performance, quality, and responsiveness
8. Publish and manage releases on Google Play Store
9. Write unit tests and UI tests
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (backend, design, QA)

Required Skills

1. Strong proficiency in Kotlin
2. Experience with Jetpack Compose, Navigation Compose, ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow
3. Familiarity with Retrofit/OkHttp for API integration
4. Experience with WebSocket or real-time data handling
5. Understanding of MVVM/MVI architecture patterns
6. Experience with Hilt/Dagger for dependency injection
7. Familiarity with ExoPlayer or media playback on Android
8. Experience publishing apps on Google Play Store
9. Good understanding of Android lifecycle, background services, and permissions
10. Version control with Git

Good to Have

1. Experience with Firebase (Auth, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics)
2. Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
3. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
4. Knowledge of multilingual/i18n implementation on Android
5. Experience with financial or data-intensive applications

Qualifications

1. B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent
2. 2-5 years of professional Android development experience
3. Portfolio or published apps on Play Store preferred
